Satobyte Technologies ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Satobyte utility billing platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, create an account, or use our services.

A. Personal Information You Provide

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, password (hashed), and a 4-digit transaction PIN. For KYC on rental services we may additionally collect a Nigerian identity document number (NIN, BVN, or passport).

B. Transaction Information

Every airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, and SLTV purchase is logged with the service type, recipient, amount, status, and timestamp. Wallet funding events record the payment provider reference and funding amount.

C. Technical Information

We automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system. We also log authentication events (sign-in, sign-out, PIN changes) and the referring URL.

Account data is retained for the life of the account plus 7 years to comply with Nigerian tax and AML regulations. Transaction logs are retained for 7 years. You may request account deletion at any time; we will anonymize your profile and retain only the data required by law.

We protect your data with 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, mandatory transaction PIN, and continuous activity monitoring. No system is 100% secure; we notify affected users within 72 hours of any confirmed data breach.

We use a minimal set of cookies: an authentication session cookie, and a single first-party analytics cookie that aggregates page views. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

We will post any material changes on this page and email you at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date below shows when this policy was last revised.
