Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about transactions, activations, security, and wallet funding.

What is Satobyte?

Satobyte is a comprehensive, transactionally-secure, and fully automated utility billing platform in Nigeria. We provide high-availability payment gateways for instant mobile airtime recharges, high-speed data bundles, pre-paid and post-paid electricity tokens, Cable TV subscriptions, SLTV decoder packages, and premium virtual telecoms configurations like phone number rentals and static IP configurations.

How do I create an account?

Click the "Register" or "Create Account" button on the homepage, fill in your details (name, email, phone number, password), verify your email with the secure OTP code sent to you, and choose a secure 4-digit transaction PIN to validate your billing orders.

Is my personal information secure?

Absolutely. We protect user accounts using industry-grade SSL/TLS transport encryption, secure password hashing, and mandatory multi-factor authentication (OTP validation and PIN authorizations). Your card or bank detail interactions are securely managed by PCI-DSS compliant gateways like Paystack or Flutterwave.

How do I fund my wallet?

You can fund your Satobyte wallet in under 5 seconds by transferring funds directly to your dedicated virtual bank accounts (e.g., Wema Bank, Moniepoint, or Sterling Bank) dynamically generated for your profile, or by initiating a secure checkout using integrated payment cards. Funds are credited instantly and transactionally.

What is a transaction PIN?

A transaction PIN is a 4-digit security code that you configure during account setup. This code is required to authorize every purchase or utility payment, preventing unauthorized account usage or funds leakage.

Can I withdraw money from my wallet?

Wallet deposits are intended for purchasing and activating utility services on the platform, including airtime, data packages, SLTV, electricity bills, and phone rentals. To comply with anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, direct cash withdrawals are not supported.

Where can I view my transaction history?

You can view your complete transaction history by visiting "My Orders" or the individual history queues from your dashboard. It displays full breakdowns of your airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, and SLTV history, complete with invoice PDFs and token sequences.

What if my transaction failed?

If a payment or utility provider gateway reports a failure (such as an invalid meter number or service downtime), our database triggers a transactional rollback. 100% of the funds are reversed automatically and instantly back to your Satobyte wallet, complete with a transaction failure log.

How do I buy airtime or data?

Select the Airtime or Data option from your dashboard, choose your carrier network (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile), specify the recipient phone number, choose your bundle or value, and enter your 4-digit PIN. Delivery is fully automated and takes less than 3 seconds.

How long does it take to activate an SLTV decoder package?

SLTV decoder packages are activated in real-time. Once you place an activation order, our administrators check the subscriber databases, confirm the details with you, and complete the renewal. The entire cycle completes within 2 to 5 minutes on average.

Can I retrieve my purchased electricity token if I accidentally close the screen?

Yes, absolutely. Every prepaid electricity token transaction generates a persistent 20-digit token saved under your orders. You can retrieve it anytime by clicking on your order logs in the "Electricity History" tab.
